IVF Treatment

The procedure In Vitro Maturation was first developed in the early 1990’s as a cheaper and safer alternative to IVF. The procedure IVM intends to mature the immature eggs in the laboratory in one or two days. The eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and kept in laboratory for making them matured. When matured, these eggs are fertilized with sperm using ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection). The fertilized embryos are then kept in the laboratory for two-five days. The grown eggs will be then transferred to the mother’s womb

You will be suggested for an IVM if : • Infertility is caused by PCOD • The patient is prone to developing Ovarian Hyper-Stimulation Syndrome

The procedure of IVM starts with collecting immature eggs from the ovary. For this, the candidate may not have to take many ovary- stimulating hormones before collecting the eggs. The eggs will be kept in a dish, placed in the laboratory for one or two days. The matured eggs are then fertilized using the male partner’s or donor’s sperm. The cultured embryos are then transferred to the intended mother’s womb. The procedure of implanting the embryos has been just as that in IVF treatment.

The success rates of IVM are similar to that of the IVF treatment. There can be certain risks including: • The number of eggs collected can be lesser when compared to that of conventional IVF. • All the eggs may not get mature sufficiently to be fertilized.

When going for the procedure, the doctor will collect complete fertility history of the patient. The doctor will also search for other simple treatments if suitable for the patient. Even though the techniques have developed a lot, IVM is considered to be an experiment. Having a detailed discussion with the doctor regarding the treatment is necessary prior to the procedure

IVF is one of the procedures in Assisted Reproductive Technology. IVF is provided for treating infertility conditions. This process involves the removal of eggs from the ovaries and is mixed with sperm in the laboratory culture dish and fertilization takes place in that dish. It is a treatment which is started with a hormone therapy for stimulating the development of several follicles in the ovary

Infertility is a condition faced by an individual who cannot conceive even after having regular unprotected sex. Infertility can happen both in men and women.

IVF treatment starts with a hormone therapy to stimulate the development of follicles in the ovary. These follicles are collected as eggs. The fertilization takes place in a test tube for creating embryos. One or two embryos will be transferred to the uterus after two to five days. The surplus embryos will be frozen. It helps to do subsequent transfer if the first one fails.

4. Frozen Embryo transfer contributed an increasing percentage of birth from assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).The success rates of Frozen Embryo transfer pregnancy influenced by the method of freezing embryos. Previously, several centers had FET success rates that were concerning less than 10%. Currently with vitrification method, several embryos approximately 90% of success rates. Frozen Embryo transfer success rates not only depends on the freezing method but also depends on the quality of the embryos frozen.

Advantages of Frozen Embryo Transfer FET • FET Increased implantation rates • Healthier babies • Decreased miscarriage rates • FET Increased ongoing pregnancy rates • FET Increased live birth rates • Lowered risk of pre-term labor

Frozen Embryo Transfer is a reproductive technology help to increase the percentage of births for couples with in SVNH while minimizing the risk of multiple births. At SVNH, our doctor assures top continuity of care throughout entire cycle.
